Functional Behavioral Assessment
A Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA) is conducted by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). FBAs assist in identifying and addressing a client’s behavioral challenges. It relies on a variety of direct and indirect techniques and strategies to identify the purposes of specific behaviors and to help select interventions to address those challenging behaviors.
Independent Psycho-Educational Evaluation
Independent Psycho-Educational evaluations are conducted by a Licensed Educational Psychologist (LEP) to understand an individual’s learning style, strengths, and challenges. The evaluation aides in determining a range of special education eligibilities such as Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language Disorders, Learning Disabilities, and other disorders that adversely impact learning.
Possible areas of assessment:

These tests also reflect learning rate and assist in predicting how well the client may do in school. Verbal and nonverbal tests are used as appropriate with clients of different cultures and language background.
Academic/Pre Academic Achievement: These observations and test measures may include basic reading and reading comprehension, written expression, math calculation and math reasoning, oral expression and/or listening comprehension.
Language, Speech, and Communication Development: These observations and tests may measure auditory processing along with the client’s ability to comprehend, relate to and use language and speech clearly and appropriately.
Psycho-Motor Development: These observations and tests measure the client’s ability to coordinate body movements in both large and small muscle activities. Visual perceptual skills may also be measured.
Health: Observations and review of developmental and medical history may be conducted.
